Who teaches these classes?

All of our classes are taught by student volunteers who are passionate about the content they are teaching. 

When are the classes?

All of our classes are in eastern time. They are held after school and on the weekends.

What are the curriculums?

All of our curriculums are individually designed by student volunteers and are aimed towards getting students ahead of the curve.

Where are the classes?

Unless specified, all of our classes will be held online through Zoom. You will receive a Zoom link after registration from the teacher.

If you want to join a class but the registration is closed, please email the teacher! The class is not necessarily closed to new students, this is just to ensure that teachers are notified about new students.


Kid's Intensive Writing Class

Time: Saturdays, 5-6 PM, Year-round

Teachers: Jocelyn Li and Harmonie Chen

Grades: 5-8th

Moving at a faster and more intense pace, the Kid's Intensive Writing Class is the perfect place for dedicated young writers. Students will explore multiple forms of writing and focus on developing their voice and expressing their opinions through their work.

Kid's Writing Class

Time: Tuesdays 5:30-6:30 PM, Year-round

Teacher: Annabelle Nolan

Grades: 4-8th

Being able to write with a clear voice enables people to change the world through literary essays, articles, and even movies and plays. This class covers multiple forms of writing; in it, students will learn to find their voice and express their opinions through diction and tone. ​

Algebra II

Time: Sundays 3:30-4:30 PM, Year-round

Teacher: Emma Su

Algebra II covers a wide range of topics including polynomials, quadratics, radicals, graphing, complex numbers, logarithms, sequences and series, and inequalities. A base knowledge of Algebra I is required as Algebra II is built upon theories and foundations established in Algebra I. 


Debate

Time: Thursdays 5:30-6:30 PM, Year-round

Teacher: Adam Juma

Grades: 5th-7th

In this class, your child will not only gain experience debating a variety of complex topics, but will also learn fundamental strategies to improve the construction of their arguments and presentation of their ideas. No prior experience is needed, and anyone who is passionate about debate will be able to take something out of this class.

Ancient Civilizations

Time: Thursdays 4:15-5:15 PM, Year-round

Teacher: JJ Gilbert

Ancient civilizations are one of the most fascinating periods in human history and understanding the peoples and events of past millennia is critical to understanding the modern world. Students in this class will get to do a deep dive into and explore different cultures and lifestyles from Ancient Greece and Rome. These subjects will expand students' minds and allow them to have fun while learning about important aspects of history and human nature.

Chemistry

Time: Fridays 4:30-5:30 PM, Year-round

Teachers: Jocelyn Li and Hank Guo

Grades: 7-9th 

Chemistry is a captivating subject; it encapsulates the study of the behavior and properties of matter. Students will learn about the elements, atoms, electrons, moles, and more. Complete with slides, worksheets, quizzes, and Kahoots, this class mimics a school setting. This chemistry course is adapted from a high school chemistry class and introduces students to the fundamental concepts of the subject.

Physics

Time: Saturdays 2-3 PM, Year-round

Teachers: Oscar Zeng and Stanley Zeng

Grades: 8th+

This class is adapted from a high school physics course. It covers fewer topics and is easier, but it is designed to teach you the basics of physics and to give you a head start. In this class, you will learn about the basics of motion including acceleration, vectors, and graphs. It will also cover force, newton's laws, and energy and momentum.

Biology Class

Time: Mondays 8:00-9:00 PM, Fall Semester Only

Teacher: Eshan Jaine

Grades: 7-9th

Biology is a fascinating science that studies life and its components. Students will learn about the human body, cells, nutrition, living organisms, genetics, plants, and diseases.

Kid's Math Class

Time: Sundays 5-6 PM, Fall Semester Only

Teachers: Grace Chan and Harmonie Chen

Grades: 4-5th

This is a class for elementary students seeking to review and strengthen their math skills in an engaging environment. Each month we will target a new concept such as basic algebra, inequalities, geometry, word problems, and graphing/data analysis. Not only will students get a chance to practice these techniques on paper, but also through enjoyable games.
