DO YOU WANT TO MAKE AN IMPACT?
We're always thrilled to have another passionate student join us as a teacher or tutor! With us, you'll learn how to design and teach your own class. Along the way, your leadership, communication, and organizational skills will improve substantially!

What Are the Roles?
As a teacher, you have two options:
Design your own curriculum: You will need to design your own curriculum and get it approved by us. (More info and support will be provided!)
Use one of ours: You will receive a curriculum (although there is a limited number) to teach.
- 9th grade and above
- Letter of recommendation from a current school teacher
We will match you with a teacher who is teaching a class you are knowledgeable and interested in. Your exact role in the classroom will differ based on the teacher.
- 7th grade and above
Roughly an hour a week (this can change based on the teacher though)
You will be paired with a student who is looking for help in your area of expertise. Meeting times and goals will depend on your student.
- 9th grade and above
Roughly an hour a week
Need any volunteer hours to be verified? We're a certified 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so we would be more than happy to sign off on any volunteer hours that you spent with us! Just make sure you have a log with the time, date, and a brief description of what you were doing (eg emailing, class...)
Also, any time you spend with us (meetings, curriculum design, emails) count towards your volunteer hours.
The President's Volunteer Service Award
We are certified to give out PVSA awards! The PVSA is given to the most exceptional volunteers. It honors those who have made a positive impact in their communities through their service work. Each recipient is awarded a certificate, signed by the current sitting president.
Why should I do it?
The PVSA is a great way to show your commitment to your community and dedication, as it is not easy to acquire the needed number of hours. It is also a great booster for resumes and college applications!
Eligibility and Requirements:
There are three tiers that volunteers can receive: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. The required hours for each tier differ between age groups.
In order to be eligible, you will need to be a United States citizen or a lawful permanent resident of the United States, and the hours you send in must have been complemented within a 12-month period. We also require applicants to have spent the majority of their volunteer hours with us and to have kept a detailed log of their volunteer hours (we have a template if you need it). Any other work completed with a different organization will need to be certified as well and they will need to sign off all of your hours. Please reach out to us if you're interested!
